Neighborhood pets

We got our first snow of the season this morning. Not a lot really, less than an inch of dry powder. The guys who get paid for guessing what is coming say there will be more tonight and over the next few days.

There has been a little group of does and fawns hanging around here all summer. I happened to see them crossing the road this morning and grabbed a couple of shots. Not the best, as I was using pretty high telephoto and bracing the camera against a door jam. Didn’t have time to even think about the video camera.

This time of year is awesome for the viewing we don't normally get. I hope when our first snow come it will come as a dusting. Seems ours come down in half-foot or foot shots any more. I would rather go rabbit hunting in a dusting.

Great pics, Bob. And have a safe winter.

Maybe I’m being to critical, but I didn’t intend to sell it to NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC anyway. I know how hard I was trying to hold the camera steady, and I still had to use Photo Shop to sharpen the image.

That snow melted off, and we picked up another inch last night. This is pretty much on schedule. We normally get a light snow around Thanksgiving, give or take a few days. The big dump comes around the end of December or the first part of January. Many times it has been over my knees in my drive way, and it really piles up in the mountains.

Thanks all for stopping by. Have a good Thanksgiving.

If those were in Michigan... BOOM! While I am not a hunter, there are a lot of people who are and they are all in the woods right now.

Hi Ryan. Things must be different in Michigan. Even if the season was open, and it isn't, that is a doe and fawn; neither of which would be legal under any circumstances. Around here it's bucks only, forked horn or better. Thanks for stopping by.
